Where have you BEEN all my life??

I am ADDICTED to fans, I simply cannot stand sitting in a room with stagnant air and fell in love with this monster before it was even out of the box. It moves air like a jet engine, has made living in a large & somewhat airless house tolerable and the noise of the engine & blades does wonders to dampen the noise made by the delightful young lady who lives upstairs. Stereo sound coming through the floor?? Turn on the fan, drag it next to you and it all blends into the night. If I had any complaints about it the would be that the thing is so comparatively powerful that it needs a good cleaning every month because it sucks up dust like magnet, and has actually proven a bit too effective in moving air during chilly weather when I've been to baked to just point it upwards to simply circulate air & create a white noise background.

So in other words it does exactly what it's designed to do and I just need to vacuum more often but what the hey, I'm a guy, you know? I'd rather just clean a fan once a month that do house chores, there's valuable time saved right there. The cost is modest enough for anyone to really be able to afford it, and along with a single window AC has kept this house cool, comfortable and livable ever since I got it. I'll never buy another window/box fan ever again, the fan grilles come off easily for cleanings with something like a dish brush in the kitchen sink and I can sleep soundly even with whatever god forsaken music my upstairs neighbor has on repeat while she's doing whatever chicks do with music on repeat. Honestly, the same damn song over and over again for an hour ... you gotta wonder.

If you are looking for silent cooling options to maintain the tomb like quiet in your abode or workplace this might not be the thing for you, I'd recommend placing your feet in a bucket of ice instead, or maybe moving to Nome, Alaska & just leaving the window open. For anyone else this is a great fan, fabulous design and it is powerful enough so that you could attach it to an ironing board with a washtub to sit in and fly with it, just like on Scooby-Doo.
I can finally sleep!

Ill be first to admit that I recently stopped using alcohol to put me to sleep. For the last month my sleep has been hell. Working nights at a hospital has been even worse. The only thing I miss about my alcohol use was how well I slept, and that believe it or not is why I was using it. I stopped cold turkey without a problem. The only problem it left me with was lack of sleep. As a child I always needed air movement around me to sleep, and a powerful sounding fan. Well a co worker told me to buy the Mega Turbo by Honeywell and I was relectant for two weeks to buy it, but finally I couldnt take my lack of sleep and didnt want to abuse alcohol so I bought the fan. Ever since I have slept like a baby. The first night using this fan I fell asleep listening to it, while sitting up and slept for a good 9 hours. My house is noisy during the day, this fan even on MEDIUM blocks out all noise possible. The phone (which is right by my ear) the animals, vacuuming, everything I sleep right through it all! The sound is so soothing I have never heard any other fan so soothing before. But the air movement, Holy hell, I swear if I stood in front of it my cheeks would be blown back. This baby really moves air, better then any other fan on the market and certainly better then any fan I h
Debunking Negative Comments

Re operational control is not intuitive - the instruction sheet clearly points out this is a child proof 3-speed switch which needs to be first pushed in, then turned just like a prescription medicine bottle or electric countertop range. Obviously, some people just didn't read the instructions.

Re can't remove grill for cleaning - the instruction sheet again points out where the HIDDEN Philips screws are located to remove the grill. It takes a little work, but isn't difficult.

Re fan makes alot of noise - the low speed on the Honeywell moves more air than the high speed on my slightly smaller high priced "quiet" Bionnaire (sp?) and is comparably quiet for roughly the same amount of air moved. It is louder on high speed.

Re build quality being poor - yes the plastic is thinner than a Vornado or Bionnaire. Nor does it look as refined, but it does the job for a much lower price and has a 5 year warranty. The light weight also makes it much easier to move the fan around. But being light weight, the fan will slide on a slick floor if on the highest speed setting.

Re style not being that great - again the high priced fans look somewhat better, but the Honeywell is still much more attractive than the chrome plated rust prone wire fans of comparable price. The black surface also doesn't show dirt like a metal surface.

Bottom line is it is the best value for the price. And it moves more air than even the high end fans.

I'VE HADE THIS FAN FOR 6 + YRS.

TOP AND BOTTOM SCREW YOU NEED TO DRILL THE HEAD OFF IF YOU WANT A GOOD CLEAN,THE REST ARE PHILLIPS HEAD,TO GET THE FACE OFF, BUT THIS FAN HAS OUTLASTED THE BIGER METAL FANS WITCH ONLY LAST ABOUT 1 YR, ITS ALMOST AS BIG AS IT AND HAS JUST AS MUCH POWER.........
Powerful; for the price, can deal with a bit of noise

This fan gives great performance for the price. Low speed provides strong airflow with moderate noise. High speed gives very strong air flow and loud noise. At a distance, the noise on low doesn't interfere with normal conversation, but up close, it's necessary to raise your voice slightly. I have a friend who uses this fan for white noise in his bedroom. I like a little white noise as well, but find this fan a bit loud for that purpose. The breeze is a bit strong, even on low, for personal use in a small space, unless it's very hot. I use it either for air circulation, or for direct breeze from a distance - ie, I'll place the fan 10-12 feet away and point it in my direction - this gives a noticeable breeze, and not much noise. The breeze disperses just enough at a distance to cover a table full of people, but no so much that you can't move it in a bit and angle it away from someone who doesn't want breeze. On medium or high, it is powerful enough to put in a high window and draw a bit of air through the house - even without a good seal between the fan body and the window. Bottom line, I have two of these, and they are my go-to fans when I want powerful cooling, breeze for several people, whole-room air circulation, or high-volume air movement. If very-quiet operation isn't a concern, there's no need to pay more. As a bonus, because of it's wide, stable base, it is very easy to move around and change it's direction.
